Welcome.
We are a community
FREE of judgment.

Have you ever been told you’re too sensitive?

Or like you need a unique language to express yourself in this world?

The Creative School for Integration is a community of people learning to speak their own language––maybe for the first time.

Are you looking for a judgment-free space for creative rest, or supportive community as you begin, return to, or deepen a creative practice? The Creative School for Integration invites highly sensitive, autistic, and non-verbal individuals to make your marks.

Grammar of Creativity

At the Creative School for Integration, the Grammar of Creativity is experienced as a living field rather than a rulebook or canon. This "grammar" encompasses the fundamental energies, shifts, and practices that help you express the integration of your wise body and wise soul.

The Living Field

There is an invisible, over-cultural architecture that tells us how to think, how to create, and how to be. At the Creative School for Integration, we gently deconstruct those walls.

Here, you are invited to create beyond the edge of known language—free from the constructs and biases so you can remember your own unique, sovereign language—awakening to a profound reality:we are not separate.

While we navigate this sacred “human school” of being in a body and living on the Earth, we lean into the living intelligence of nature, deep compassion,
and radical trust. This quiets the noise so you can hear the wisdom of your soul.

What unique marks are you burning to contribute to the whole?

What do our unique marks say together that they could never say alone?

Beginnings

Our ancestors declared their participation in this world with stone and cave paintings.

Before we modern humans learned to form letters, symbols, or structured images, we all began by making marks. Whether drawing with a stick in the soil, splashing water, coloring with a crayon on paper, or dragging a seashell through the sand—we made marks of pure potential.

We created directly from our Creative Heart Space.

These marks of pure potential remain alive in us and connect us to all forms of expression.

Below are the marks of pure potential from four-year-old Ashton, created in response to a wild violet:

Embodied Mark Making

Mark making begins simply. A line. A dot. A scratch on a page. It is the raw precursor to everything else—to your doodling, your journaling, your drawing, and your painting. It is whatever your heart desires it to be.

Embodied Mark Making goes deeper. It is the moment your physical body opens to the wisdom of your soul. It welcomes that energy directly into your ever-expanding Creative Heart Space, fiercely trusting whatever expression decides to emerge.

Put simply? Your body is a microcosm of the macrocosm. You are meant to live in it fully.

Your wise-body and your wise-soul are in a constant, beautiful conversation—always exploring creative ways to integrate. Through this practice, you can expand your Creative Heart Space to any single part of your body, to the entirety of your physical form, to the toroidal field around you—and beyond.

This supports Embodied Infinity—a pure emergence born from boundless, pure potential.

The paths to get there are embodied, intuitive, and alive:

  • Creative Rest

  • Infinity Containers

  • Drawing from the Breath

  • Vagal Marking

  • Touch Contour

The list continues to evolve and grow. Slowly, beautifully, the marks of your unique frequency become visible.

Creative Rest
(Resting & Digesting)

Creative Rest is the essential bridge that transitions us from survival to pure potential. By intentionally shifting our body away from the exhausting grip of stress and survival instincts, we dissolve the invisible barriers holding us back. When we purposefully tap into the body’s natural state of recovery, we aren't just taking a break—we are reclaiming our clarity, resilience, and ultimate expressive potential.

The magic of Creative Rest begins by gently activating the body's parasympathetic nervous system—our "rest-and-digest" mode. This shift is essential to move us out of a stressed, reactive state and into a receptive space of recovery, balance, and creativity. Rest-and-digest stands in stark contrast to the sympathetic nervous system's fight-or-flight response, which floods us with energy to face or flee danger.

Today, many of us chronically live in this survival mode. Driven by societal, personal, or epigenetic trauma, it is compounded by the constant pressure to keep up with a hyper-connected, multitasking culture. Living with a heightened heart rate and on constant alert is profoundly depleting and breeds deep anxiety.

To be clear, these survival instincts are vital. We absolutely need them sometimes—we just do not need to live there. Sometimes, we simply need to rest, whether for a few minutes or for a full creative session.

Creative Rest is deeply replenishing. It allows us to create outside of predetermined language, preconceptions, and cultural bias. In this space, what we think we know simply dissipates, allowing us to rest into the intrinsic flow between our inner vision and its outward expression. By choosing to lead from a Rested Creative Heart Space, we can redefine what a valuable, creative life looks like.

Imagine the world we could build if all leaders made this choice.

Holding Both with Infinity Containers

Welcome to a creative space that expands far beyond the edges of the screens we use every day.

Beyond the glass frame of the rigid, rectangular screens that dominate modern life lies an infinite field of consciousness. The Infinity Container is a direct connection to this pure potential. It is one continuous loop. It crosses over itself to form two distinct lobes. A flow with no beginning, middle, or end.

It takes us out of the rectangular boxes of our televisions, computers, tablets, and phones. Screens serve a vital purpose right now. They are our primary conduits for global communication, connection, and daily labor. You are looking at one right now. But just because rectangular screens are the dominant lens does not mean they are the only lens. This vast expanse offers an infinity of lenses to support your unique, sovereign expression. It provides the raw, unfiltered space from which to truly birth your deepest work.

When we limit our vision to rectangular screens, we limit the potential of what we can create. Compositionally, the Infinity Container may or may not govern the creative marks and the resulting form. That is between the maker and creativity itself. The undulating Infinity Container—within one's inner vision, within the body, around the body, and on the page—is an accessible creative tool. It deeply touches the Creative Heart Space.

Bring on the Infinity Containers!

⚭ Holding Both

The two distinct lobes are potent space holders for "Holding Both."

  • Complementary Forces.

  • Creative Tension of the Opposites.

  • Both/And.

This fluid dynamic is recognized in ancient cave paintings and timeless philosophies, including:

  • The Yin/Yang

  • The Yoga Sutras

  • The Buddhist Middle Way

  • Judaism's Kabbalistic Tree of Life

This also mirrors the philosophy of Carl Jung. He centered his work on the tension of opposites. Jung argued that the conflict between conscious and unconscious forces is essential for psychological growth, integration, and creative function.

However, it was Jung's student, Marion Woodman—a mythopoeic author and dream psychologist—who expanded the term "Holding Both." She heavily emphasized the split between the psyche and the soma. Mind/soul and body.

⚭ Activating the Creative Heart Center

In this way, Woodman challenged the ego's demand for absolute, rigid choices. Instead, she advocated for a thinking heart that can handle paradox. Trusting life while accepting death. This supports the Creative Heart Center that we activate and come home to during every creative session.

Woodman referred to "Both/And" instead of "Either/Or."

Let's take a moment to let that sink in.

Both/And instead of Either/Or. Wow!

Woodman advocated that when one truly holds the tension without running away, a third emerges. A new perspective. A new way of being. It brings the two opposites together. Again, the Infinity Container naturally invites this exploration of Both/And.

⚭ The Biology & Spirit of the Heart

The heart is a powerful, independent center of intelligence.

  • Heart Brain: Features roughly 40,000 neurons that learn, remember, and decide independently of the brain.

  • Vagus Nerve: Sends 80% of its communication signals up from the heart to the brain.

  • Energy Field: Generates an electromagnetic field 5,000 times stronger than the brain's.

  • Spiritual Alignment: Mirrors the Hindu Anahata, where human potential meets divine spirit to move us from polarity to pure potential.

For Woodman, this is not just an intellectual exercise. It is a physical experience. Body-soul integration. She said the body must be strong enough to contain this high-voltage energy without breaking.

Much like how the physical heart has a central pulmonary artery that integrates the left and right chambers so it can all function together, these left and right chambers teach us a final truth:

The Creative Heart Center and the Infinity Container are one and the same!

Journaling with Marks & Words

At the Creative School for Integration, we explore handwriting, printing, script, and beyond as powerful pathways for Embodied Mark Making. Some participants choose to use our creative prompts to journal in a notebook or sketchbook, while others prefer to express themselves on a drawing pad. Some find that their handwriting leads to drawing or painting, while others watch their journaling flow into a creative writing project. Our creative prompts are designed to invite the wisdom of your soul to integrate fully with the wisdom of your human body. As lifelong learners, we discover more about our unique integration every day.

  • Expressive Journaling: Translating inner visions or dreams into notebooks, sketchbooks, or drawing pads.

  • Artistic Flow: Watching handwriting naturally evolve into drawing, sketching, or painting.

  • Creative Writing: Letting free-form marks flow seamlessly into storytelling.

Sometimes the marks are the words! Sometimes the words are the marks

Traditions & Innovations

At the Creative School for Integration, we honor and are inspired by many sacred traditions and innovators. We dive deeper into these inspirations on our membership site and in our creative sessions.

Betty Edwards, a North American art teacher who is 100 years old, wrote her globally acclaimed book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, in 1979. In this work, Edwards focused on the creative capacity of the right hemisphere of the human brain to see what unfolds each moment via light, matter, and shadow. She also noted how creative people describe connection, timelessness, a lack of anxiety, and a deep attentiveness to shapes, spaces, and forms when those elements remain nameless. For example, instead of instructing her students to draw a "hand," Edwards would coach them to let go of what the hand was called and simply draw the shapes and spaces that made up its form.

In addition to Edwards' research on the brain's intuitive right hemisphere, we at the Creative School for Integration also acknowledge acknowledge that there are neural cells in our heart and gut. Furthermore, the vagus nerve—the longest nerve in our body—conveys information from our brain to most of our organs and vice versa. This means we have an integrated body and mind, or "Bodymind," as supported by the groundbreaking research of Dr. Candace Pert, who passed away at the age of 67 in 2013. Dr. Pert's book, Molecules of Emotion: The Science Behind Mind-Body Medicine, explains the biochemical connection of our Bodymind and provides the opportunity to heal the separation of the Spirit and the Flesh.

This separation was concretized by the 17th-century French philosopher René Descartes and other dudes going back to Plato (428–347 BCE). One might say the philosophical separation of the body from the soul was a strategy to make people feel "less than," forcing them to rely on an ordained intermediary to provide a valid connection to their own body, soul, and higher power.

At the Creative School for Integration, each participant explores connection in their own unique way while releasing self-judgment and relearning to trust their intuition. Dr. Pert's findings also support the truth that we are all made from one ecosystem that originated with starstuff—pure consciousness, a field of infinite possibility and creativity—and that this is what we return to.

Edwards and Pert help us reclaim what we already know deep within the cellular wisdom of our bodies: Matter and Spirit are not separate, Embodiment and the Infinite are not separate, and "both" can be expressed in unison. We can choose to trust our creative responses to the natural world in all of its macro and micro magnificence.
